lyrics

I look at you looking back at me we both quickly turn away
I'd like to talk to you but I don't know what to say
I promised myself tonight I would come out of my shell
But this self-consciousness I'm swimming in is my own living hell
I plan out things to say and hope they don't sound too rehearsed
I forget them all together cuz my head's about to burst

But the words always come out wrong
I don't know why
It's happened before
so now I don't even try

I'm over analyzing all your gestures all your looks
Cuz people don't have thought bubbles like in the comic books
So I draw my own and fill them up with all of my worst fears
and now I'm wishing I were sitting anywhere but here
My left brain realizes you've all been kind to me
So I try to untie my tongue and set my own thought bubbles free

But the words always come out wrong
I don't know why
It's happened before
so now I don't even try

I saw you in the park under the willow tree
Couldn't tell if it was you, you couldn't tell if it was me
So we both kept to our business we both kept our mouths shut
Both afraid of something, not really knowing what
So wrapped up in my doubt, making myself mute and lame
It never occurred to me
that you might feel the same...

CB is a product of love and came together in fall 2010 with the intention to benefit all sentient beings. As Matthew Henry once said: "Lightning strikes only but once". ... more
